The History of the location

The location Kienberg bei Gaming has a remarkably long tradition and has developed in the course of hundreds of years from a handicrafts workshop into a modern, internationally operating, industrial plant. A high quality standard of products is a recognizable characteristic and the reason for the success and continuity of the location.

The most important stages in the development:
  • 1817 Company foundation by Josef Anton Winter through the purchase of 3 forging workshops dating back to the 16th Century.
  • 1849 Takeover of the company by Josef Heiser
  • 1911 Sale of the company to the Reitlinger brothers
  • 1920 Production of the first steel cylinder
  • 1967 Production start of porous mass for acetylene cylinders
  • 1986 Introduction of high strength steel cylinders
  • 1992 Modification of the porous mass to the asbestos-free type (HEISER-ECO)
  • 1992 Certification to ISO 9000
  • 1995 Delivery of the first composite cylinders
  • 1998 Acquisition of the company by the American WORTHINGTON CYLINDERS Group
  • 2005 Certification to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
  • 2007 Certification to ISO TS16949
